Kate + Brennan | A Matter of Taste at Tapawingo
Kate and Brennan were married at A Matter of Taste at Tapawingo on one of those early June days that just felt like Northern Michigan.
They both started the morning in Charlevoix—Kate with her girls, Brennan at his parents’ house with his guys—before everyone headed out to Ellsworth for the rest of the day.
Kate wore a Jenny Yoo gown from Anthropologie, and Thyme Hill Designs did the florals. Tapawingo has so much personality on its own, so I loved that everything felt like it worked with the space instead of trying to change it.
When I look back through their gallery, I keep coming back to the photos that happened in between everything else. People talking before the ceremony. Family and friends piled together. The things that probably didn’t feel like a “moment” while they were happening.
There were plenty of the big things too—the ceremony, speeches, parent dances, first dance, and a very full dance floor—but the in-between is what made the day feel like theirs. So much happens in one day, and not all of it announces itself as important while it’s happening.
Those are the parts I want to keep.
