This University Club of Chicago wedding was a beautiful balance of elegance, celebration, and genuine joy. From the venue’s historic architecture and rich wood interiors to the warm, candlelit reception, the day felt intentional and deeply meaningful. It was the kind of celebration that highlights what matters most—connection, laughter, and being fully present with the people you love.
One of my favorite parts of the day was documenting the quiet, unspoken moments between the couple—completely at ease with one another, grounded, and fully present. That sense of connection carried through the entire celebration, from the emotional first look to the champagne-filled toasts that gave way to a night of energetic dancing. Guests showed up ready to celebrate, and the atmosphere throughout the University Club reflected that joy.
I photographed the day using a mix of digital and 35mm film to capture both the structure of the space and the emotion of the moments unfolding within it. The candlelit reception and warm light pouring through the windows during portraits made the film especially fitting—the grain, color, and softness added depth while preserving the honesty of the day.
